For caregivers
Join before Kalvri opens.
Kalvri introduces families to professional caregivers, ranked by fit. Until it opens on the App Store, caregivers join by application — so we ask real questions about real shifts, and we read every answer.
It costs nothing to apply, and caregivers never pay: not to match, not to talk to a family. Kalvri takes no commission and no cut of your rate, now or later.
What we look for
The bar, printed in full.
No guessing games. This is genuinely what the application is weighing, so you can decide whether it is worth your evening before you spend it.
You do this for a living
Companion, home health aide, CNA, CMA, LPN, RN, nanny or newborn care specialist. Paid professional experience, not goodwill — though we know the two overlap.
Your judgment holds under pressure
Six real situations — a fall, a refused medication, a family asking for something outside your scope, a client who wants to put you in her will. There are wrong answers, and they matter more than anything else in the form.
You can write about what you actually did
Four written answers, and the part we read twice. A mistake that was yours, a time you did right when nobody would have known, something you did that wasn't your job. Specifics. Vague answers read as vague.
You're straight with us about your standing
Two plain questions: whether you'd complete a background check if a family asks, and whether you're on an abuse registry, have had a licence disciplined, or were let go over a client's wellbeing. A yes is not a no — saying nothing is.
Two people will vouch for you
Two professional references we can actually reach. A supervisor, a coordinator, or a family you worked for.
You're 18 or over and can work in the US
And you have an iPhone, because Kalvri is an iPhone app for now. Android is not ready yet, and we'll write to you when it is.
What being accepted does not mean
Kalvri does not verify credentials, run background checks or vouch for anyone — not for families, and not for you. Being accepted means we think families should get to meet you. It is not a badge, it does not appear next to your name, and every family is told plainly that we have checked nobody. You will still be asked for references, and you should still ask families your own questions.
After you send it
What happens next.
Four steps, and none of them is being left to wonder.
You apply
About fifteen minutes. Bring your availability, two professional references we can reach, and a quiet moment for the four written answers.
We read it
Every application, properly. Most of the weight sits on the situational questions and what you wrote in your own words.
You hear back either way
A yes or a no, not silence. If it is a no, we say so rather than leaving you refreshing an inbox for a month.
Your place is held
If it is a yes, we hold your place and send you the App Store link the day Kalvri opens, along with what to do first.
Good to know
Questions, answered plainly.
No fine-print voice here. If something matters, it belongs in normal-sized type.
What does Kalvri cost a caregiver?
Nothing. Caregivers never pay: not to apply, not to match, not to talk to a family. Kalvri never takes a cut of your rate, and nothing is withheld from what a family pays you.
How do I get paid?
The family pays you directly, in whatever way the two of you arrange. Kalvri never collects, holds or routes your wages, and never takes a percentage of them.
How do families find me?
Families whose needs you meet see you ranked by fit, with the reason you were chosen. You see the families who fit you the same way, and you choose whom to talk to. A family who needs work you’ve said you won’t do, or more than the hours or distance you set, isn’t put in front of you.
Why is there an application?
Kalvri isn’t on the App Store yet. Until it is, the application is how caregivers get in: it asks about real shifts and real judgment, we read every one, and we write back either way.
What happens after I apply?
You’ll hear from us. If it’s a yes, we hold your place and send you the App Store link the day Kalvri opens, along with what to do first. If it’s a no, we’ll say so plainly rather than leaving you waiting.
Will families see my licence?
They see what you tell them, presented as your own words — “They say they’re CPR certified” — not as a badge from us. Kalvri verifies nothing and marks no one as checked, so what families see is your claim, clearly yours.
What if a family asks for a background check?
You can order one on yourself from Checkr, on Checkr’s own site, and share the link in the conversation, or decline. Kalvri never sees the result.
Can I rate families too?
Yes. Reviews run both directions. You review the families you work for, exactly as they review you.
Still wondering about something? Ask us. A real person reads every note.
Tell us about the work you actually do.
Not a résumé. The shifts, the judgment calls, the things you are genuinely good at.
Free to apply. Caregivers never pay. No cut of your rate.
