Companion care, and somebody to talk to
Loneliness is its own illness. A companion caregiver brings conversation, a hot meal, a drive to the shops and a second pair of eyes — often long before anyone needs hands-on care.
What a companion caregiver does
- Conversation, cards, walks and the hobbies your person still loves.
- Cooking, tidying and laundry.
- Driving to appointments, church, friends and the shops.
- Reminders to eat, drink and take medication.
- Letting you know how things are really going.
Fit is personal
A retired teacher who loves a debate and a quiet widower who likes the radio on need different people. Say how your person likes to spend a day, and whether they want someone chatty or someone calm. Personality is part of the match.
When companion care is not enough
If your person needs help bathing, using the toilet, or getting in and out of bed, look for a home health aide or certified nursing assistant instead. Say so when you describe the care, and nobody who does not do that work is shown to you.
How Kalvri helps you find them
Kalvri is an iPhone app, not an agency. You say what the care really looks like, and Kalvri ranks every caregiver whose hours, skills, languages, distance and rate fit, with the reason each one was chosen. Each morning it suggests the one who fits best.
- What you require comes first. Everyone who can cover your hours, your budget and the care you described is ranked ahead of anyone who can't, and somebody who has said no to something you need is never suggested.
- Each caregiver arrives with the reason they were chosen, in plain words. What they told Kalvri is labelled as theirs, because Kalvri verifies nothing.
- When you both say yes, a private conversation opens. Ask for references, ask for a time, and decide for yourself.
- You agree the rate with your caregiver and pay them directly. Kalvri takes no fee and no cut.
