Live-in caregiver jobs
Live-in work can be the steadiest job in caregiving — if the terms are right. Kalvri introduces you to families who need live-in care, and you agree the terms with them directly.

Kalvri for caregivers, at a glance
- Cost to you
- Nothing. Caregivers never pay: not to apply, not to match, not to talk to a family.
- Commission
- None. Kalvri takes no cut of your rate.
- Who pays you
- The family, directly, at the rate you agree together.
- Your hours
- You set them. Families who need other hours, or work you won't do, aren't brought to you.
- To join
- A free application, about 15 minutes. A person reads every one, and you hear back either way.
- Who can apply
- 18 or over, able to work in the US, paid caregiving experience, and an iPhone.
Get these agreed in writing
- Your own room, and daily and weekly time off.
- How often you are woken at night, honestly described.
- Your rate, overtime, and who covers your days off.
- Meals, use of the house and the car.
Ask about the nights
Live-in care only works if you can actually sleep. Ask how often the person needs help at night, and what happened on the last few nights. If the answer is most nights, the family needs shifts, not one live-in caregiver, and it is better for both of you to say so early.
Know the rules where you work
Live-in caregivers are often household employees, and rest, overtime and pay rules vary by state. Kalvri is not your employer and does not give legal advice — look up your state's domestic worker rules before you agree.
How Kalvri works for caregivers
Caregivers never pay Kalvri anything. Until Kalvri opens on the App Store you apply once, and a person reads every application. In the app you tell Kalvri your hours, your rate, your skills and what you will not do, and families whose needs you meet see you, ranked by fit.
- No fee to apply, no commission, and every conversation is free on your side. The family pays you directly, and every dollar is yours.
- Families who need work you have said you won't do, or more than the hours or distance you set, are not put in front of you.
- What you say you will not do is respected. Kalvri never pushes you toward work you have ruled out.
- You talk with a family before anything is agreed, and you can review the families you work for.
Apply once, free
