Kalvri Care
Marketplace Agreement

Kalvri is a coordination platform. Nothing more.

Last updated: May 24, 2026. Both Families and Pros agree to this when they create an account or post their first job.

Preview placeholder — not legal advice.
This page is a plain-language preview of the marketplace agreement we’ll ship at production launch. It is not legal advice and will be replaced by counsel-reviewed text before the Caregiver Pro marketplace goes live.
The short version.
Kalvri introduces Pros and Families to each other and provides software to coordinate the work. We are not the employer, the agency, or the funds custodian. You and the person you’re working with are the parties to that relationship.

1. Not a party to your agreement

Any agreement between a Family and a Pro about the provision of caregiving services — including scope, hours, pay, conduct expectations, and termination — is solely between the Family and the Pro. Kalvri is not a party to that agreement. Kalvri does not have authority to bind either side, set terms on either side’s behalf, or accept service of process on either side’s behalf.

2. Not an employer, not an employment agency

Kalvri does not employ Pros. Kalvri does not procure employees for Families. Kalvri does not procure employment for Pros. Where a Family elects W-2 payroll through Kalvri’s payroll partner, the payroll partner — not Kalvri — is the W-2 issuer; the Family remains the household employer for IRS purposes.

3. No training, supervision, or monitoring

Kalvri does not provide training to Pros, does not supervise shifts, and does not monitor caregiving in real time. Identity and credential verification provided by Kalvri is informational only and does not constitute an endorsement of any Pro’s suitability for any specific Family or task. Families and Pros are responsible for evaluating fit and quality through their interview, hire, and shift-level review processes.

4. No guarantee

Kalvri does not guarantee:

  • The availability, reliability, timeliness, or quality of any Pro’s services.
  • The accuracy of any information posted by Families or Pros.
  • That any caregiving interaction will be safe, lawful, or free from injury or property damage.
  • That any matched Pro will be hired or that any job will be filled.

5. Payments and fees

All payments are processed by our payment partner. Funds move from the Family’s payment method to the Pro’s connected account. Kalvri does not custody customer funds at any point in v1. Disputes about chargebacks, refunds, or held payouts are handled by the payment partner pursuant to its terms, not by Kalvri.

Kalvri charges a platform fee disclosed at the point of hire. The full fee schedule appears in Settings and in your receipt. Subscription-based fees (e.g. the Pro membership tier, when launched) appear separately and renew monthly unless cancelled.

6. Background checks & credential verification

When Kalvri runs a background check on a Pro through a third party (such as Checkr), the result is informational. A “Clear” result means only that, on a specific date, that third party did not return reportable records that match the Pro’s identity. It does not guarantee that a Pro has no criminal history, will not commit a crime in the future, or will provide safe or competent care. Family decisions about whom to hire are the Family’s own.

7. Off-platform engagement

Pros and Families who continue an engagement off-platform do so at their own risk. Kalvri’s evidence trail (shift logs, message history, interview recordings) is not maintained for off-platform activity. Kalvri may suspend accounts that systematically convert relationships off-platform to avoid the platform agreement.

8. Pro standards & compliance

Pros agree to maintain valid credentials where required by their advertised category (e.g. CNA certification), re-verify identity and background checks on Kalvri’s published cadence, and disclose material changes (a new conviction, a lapsed license) within seven days of the change. False or stale credential claims are grounds for deactivation.

9. Disputes between Families and Pros

Disputes about pay, hours, conduct, fitness, or property are between the Family and the Pro. Kalvri may provide the underlying shift evidence (geo check-in/out, shift notes, messages, photos) on request from either party or via lawful process. Kalvri is not an arbiter or mediator of these disputes; parties are encouraged to resolve them through good-faith communication and, if necessary, through individual binding arbitration with AAA per the Arbitration Agreement.

10. Severability and survival

If any provision of this Marketplace Agreement is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. The disclaimers in Sections 1–9 survive any termination of your account.
