What the work involves

  • Night feeds, or bringing the baby to be fed and settling them after.
  • Changing, swaddling and safe sleep, every time.
  • A written log of feeds, sleep and diapers for the morning.
  • Help building a sleep routine, if that is your skill.
  • Twins, premature babies or recovery after a C-section, if you have the experience.

What parents will ask you

  • How many newborns you have cared for, and for how long each.
  • How you settle a baby who won't sleep.
  • What safe sleep practice you follow.
  • Whether you have infant CPR and first aid training.
  • Two families you worked nights for.

How Kalvri works for caregivers

Caregivers never pay Kalvri anything. Until Kalvri opens on the App Store you apply once, and a person reads every application. In the app you tell Kalvri your hours, your rate, your skills and what you will not do, and families whose needs you meet see you, ranked by fit.

  • No fee to apply, no commission, and every conversation is free on your side. The family pays you directly, and every dollar is yours.
  • Families who need work you have said you won't do, or more than the hours or distance you set, are not put in front of you.
  • What you say you will not do is respected. Kalvri never pushes you toward work you have ruled out.
  • You talk with a family before anything is agreed, and you can review the families you work for.

Apply once, free

One application covers every kind of work you do. About fifteen minutes, a person reads it, and you hear back either way.

Suggested by compatibility — not vetted by Kalvri.

Kalvri never handles the money. You arrange that directly.

Good to know

Questions, answered plainly.

No fine-print voice here. If something matters, it belongs in normal-sized type.

Does it cost anything to find work on Kalvri?

No. Caregivers never pay: not to apply, not to match, not to talk to a family. There is no commission: the family pays you directly and Kalvri never touches the money.

How do I apply?

Until Kalvri opens on the App Store, you apply: about fifteen minutes about the work you actually do. A person reads every one, you hear back either way, and if it's a yes we send you the App Store link the day Kalvri opens.

Can I set a run of weeks rather than an open-ended job?

Yes. Families describe how many nights and for how long, and you say which nights you work. Agree the length of the job and the notice with the family in writing.

Who can apply to Kalvri as a caregiver?

Anyone 18 or over who can work in the US, has an iPhone, and has been paid to do this work: companions, home health aides, CNAs, med-certified aides, nurses, nannies, babysitters and newborn care specialists. The application asks about your experience, six real situations, and two professional references.
